Roku Stick overheating from Power source - any solution

Jump to solution

Hi, not really sure where to put this, but we've had a Roku stick for a few years now but have only started using Roku heavily since we cut the cable in January or so.  Now we keep getting an overheating problem with the stick that seems to be coming from the power cord (not the TV). We got the free extender (thank you!) but it hasn't helped. We unplug it but it heats up again pretty quickly and we don't seem to be able to connect as quickly or automatically as before.

Is there anything else we can do with this stick?

I'm wondering if we move to ANOTHER type of Roku device that we might not have this overheating issue and maybe have smoother connectivity?

We love Roku, but we need to get past this issue. Thanks so much!

@Shoolaroon

Thanks for the post.

If you have already checked out the troubleshooting steps provided by our Support page here: What should I do if the red light is on or I see a “Your device is overheating” warning? regarding overheating and are still unable to resolve the issue, please provide the serial number of your Roku device from Settings>System>About? I'll be able to assist you further from there.

Thanks,
Danny
