Solving playback issues

Whenever I'm in an app and finished watching something and press back to go to the previous screen, i.e. "Episode List" it takes me to the Roku Home Screen instead. I think it started doing this after the last May update because it didn't do it before

I'd be happy to take a closer look to see how we can help.

Does the issue only occur on a specific channel or all channels on your Roku device? Have you tried using another HDMI port on your TV as well as trying your device on another TV to see if you are seeing the same issue?

If your simple remote is not responding, there are a few things you can do to help

1. Test for visible obstructions, most common reason for missed button presses is a Roku device that is located in a position where the signal from the remote is blocked (or partially blocked).
2. If your Roku device is still not responding to button presses, try removing the batteries from your remote and re-insert them.
3. If your Roku device continues to be unresponsive to button presses, try replacing the batteries in your remote with fresh matching batteries making sure they are positioned correctly.

It happens to both of my Roku TVs, I am not using a device that can be disconnected and reconnected elsewhere. The remote responds immediately, the issue is that the back button sends you home everytime instead of one page back.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I have even restarted my roku twice. It will work for a day or 2 then stats doing it again.

@RokuMary-F I've had this going on for almost 2 months and there haven't been any updates on the original thread I replied to since the issue was passed along for Roku to investigate.  This was over two weeks ago.

Thanks for the post.

Can you please provide more information about the issue you are experiencing:
-Roku device model
-serial number
-device ID
-software OS/version
(these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing

With more information we will be able to assist you further.
