I have same problem: it started suddenly. Audio & captions fine. Roku channel icons fine. Video doesn;'t stream. It happens with three different rokus when plugged into the same tv (one at a time of course). These rokus work fine with other tvs. Help appreciated.
Sometimes the Roku device gets a little stuck/confused with auto-selection of video resolution. Try taking the Roku device to the working TV and setting the display to 720p. Then take it back to the suspect TV and see if the video issue is resolved. (Settings/Display Type/720p TV)
Other times, may be a problem with the Screensaver. Try using a different Screensaver or Disable Screensaver for troubleshooting. Settings/Theme/Screensaver Start Time/Disable Screensaver. After disabling, restart your Roku device.
Another avenue to explore is a power issue. If using the USB power port on the suspect TV, try using a power adapter at the wall instead. (any cell phone charging adapter 5volt, 1amp should work).
If the above does not help, post back with the model of the TV and your model numbers of the Roku devices (found under Settings/System/About).
Thanks very much ---- I tried each possible solution to no avail.
The TV is an Insignia Model NS-39D310NA17 Rev. A.
Two ROKU devices: 1) 3960X and 2) 3930X,
As I said in previous post, it was working well. Then started experiencing audio only. The menu program items etc show up as normal. I replaced the HDMI cable with a new one and that didn't change anything. Could it be that both HDMI inputs on the TV went kaput?
Could be, but usually HDMI ports go out due to physical damage or a power board issue. (could be a DHCP/DRM communication issue as well since can still hear audio but black/blank video when attempting to play content). I would initially try just performing a Reset on the InsigniaTV. (Restore to default settings). If you still have manual, refer to p.68. Otherwise, here is a link to an online manual. (https://mans.io/files/viewer/576282)
If the above does not work, try unplugging all the HDMI devices from the TV, followed by unplugging TV from power for a few minutes (sometimes up to 10 minutes) in order to allow the power supplies to fully discharge. Then just plug one HDMI device in and power up TV.
