Info: Roku Express bought September 2019
Issue: My TV gives me the "no signal" message for one week and I can't use Roku anymore.
What I tried:
Any Ideas?
Have you tried connecting to another internet source? My roku will connect to mobile Hotspot, but not home wifi. Which was working perfectly fine less than 24hrs ago... I was reading other posts and someone mentioned it might be linked to the update that Roku just came out with 🤷♀️
Are you using the supplied power adapter? Does the light come on when you plug in the power?
Yes and yes. One out of the two devices that has a Roku Express finally connected to home wifi but the other one will not. It will connect to mobile Hotspot. Don't understand why home wifi wouldn't connect at all, and all of the sudden, and then it worked on one device and still not on another.
My Rokus occasionally lose their wifi connections - I have never figured out the cause for sure. (I suspect it happens when the Roku is actively streaming something, even if I'm using a different tv input and not viewing the Roku, and the internet service goes down long enough for the Roku to time out. My other devices (phones, etc) seem to recover from this but it seems to knock an active Roku out.)
This has always worked for me to restore the connection, after I've confirmed that my internet is indeed working via computer or other device:
If that doesn't fix it, try disconnecting the power to your Roku for a few seconds. When it comes back up, see if you then can set up the network connection.
One other possibility comes to mind for certain Roku models:
Current Roku models Express, Express+, Premiere, and Premiere+ (and some older models as well) cannot connect to the 5 GHz wifi band, but only to the 2.4 GHz band. If you have one of these models and a dual band router with both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, be sure the router's 2.4 GHz band is turned on.
Also, there have been a number of reports lately of people who have routers supplied by their Internet Provider having their router's 2.4 GHz band disabled by an update to the router software. They've had to have their Internet Provider re-enable the 2.4 GHz band, or in some cases swap in a new router.

Yes and Yes.
I'm sorry, I think I wasn't clear. My TV is directly connected by cable to Roku. but can't establish that connection. I can't even open the menu. I just have a Black Screen. So I can't use the Settings.
Thanks for the update.
For troubleshooting purposes, have you tried connecting the Roku device to another TV to see if you are experiencing the same issue?
Please keep us posted what you find out.
Thanks,
Danny
We only have one TV here. Otherwise, I only got a Laptop with a big external Screen with HDMI. Would that work too?
Thanks for the update.
If you are unable to resolve the issue you are experiencing, please send me a PM (private message) with your Roku account email address, and include the serial number/device ID on the Roku device along with a summary of the issue you are experiencing. I'll be able to assist you further from there.
Thanks,
Danny
