My Express 4K+ (3941X) running software 10.0.1 will power off so the TV no longer sees it as an input source when connected via HDMI. It appears to do this whenever the screensaver on the home screen would normally appear.
I have 3-4 other Express 4K+ in my home and the others do not have this issue.
To resolve it, I usually have to go up to the device and unplug the power and plug it back in. The unit then starts up and gets back to the homescreen, but would shut off again if we don't start scrolling through streaming services or actively streaming something on the Roku. Any suggestions to resolve this?

Thanks for the post.
How are you powering your Roku device? Is the device plugged into the TV USB port or is it plugged into a wall outlet?
With more information we will be able to assist you further.

I'm having the same issue with the same model Roku Express 4K+ SKU#3941R. Mine is powered by the adapter in the electric outlet.
I replaced my older Roku Express with the new 4K+ yesterday, set up fine, plays fine, but I fell asleep while watching, when I woke to the Roku screensaver that was showing a thumbnail of what I had been watching. It wouldn't do anything from that point, it had turned off and wouldn't turn back on, had to pull the power and have it restart.
Thanks for the post.
Can you please clarify the issue you are experiencing? If the screen is showing a thumbnail, then the device wouldn't be powered off. Are you seeing this issue occur on a specific channel? Do you know if you have the Bandwidth Saver feature toggled on/off?
With more detailed information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
The channel this happened on was my Plex media server. I assumed the Roku was off because of no light on the front, pushing any button on the remote didn't do anything. Bandwidth saver is not on. The Plex server settings had not changed from previous Roku player which was an Express+. I went with the Express 4K+ for the dual band. Previously when the screensaver would activate, it would be the normal Roku screensaver, and when I hit the Home button it would go there.
There is no thumbnail.
The Roku is completely off and needs to be unplugged. The TV no longer even considers the Roku an available input source until the power is reset.
The power is a standard outlet and powers the TV which works properly.
I purchased 3 Roku 4K+, two in May and one more in July. This is the only unit that does this. I swapped another 4K+ using the same power cord and HDMI setup to the TV and it works fine.
The unit is defective. At this point I just need help figuring out if there's a warranty option or way to trade it for a working Roku 4K+
Mine has not acted up since that first time, looks like it's fine now. It showed the floating thumbnail again, but the remote worked and pushing the Home button kicked it back on.
I have a Roku Ultra, I just bought it july 2021. It was perfect until recently, the power button on the roku remote only turns on my tv unless I press the OK button then the roku lights turns on and boots up. But if i leave a show idle the roku shuts down and is not recognized by my tv as an input. The screensaver doesn’t activate and I can’t resume my show if i leave it on pause, the roku just turns off and the tv says no input. I press the OK button and it turns the roku on and loads the main page fresh, not to my paused show. I have it plugged into an hdmi port on my tv and the power source is a wall outlet. It all worked fine until about a week ago October 2021.
I have a Roku Ultra also purchased in July 2021. It was perfect until about a week ago. Immediately after an update, it’s behaving exactly the same as yours. It’s very annoying. If I pause anything, the “no signal” message pops up after a couple of minutes and I get thrown back to the Roku home when I push any button.
Look for a new setting under Settings->System->Power for power savings and disable it.
