Using Roku Media Player to play MP3 music from a USB stick. Many of the songs start a few seconds too late. The start of the music is basically clipped off. This is not happening on my laptop (Windows/Media Monkey) or on my phone (Android/Musicolet). Only on the Roku Media Player.
Is there a setting or something that I can check that may be causing this? Or if anyone else has any other ideas, that would be great.
RMP seems to be having lots of problems these days. I've been recommending My Music.
I looked at My Music. It is very sparse looking. However, if this continues to be a problem with RMP, I guess I will probably give it a try. I am committed to playing MP3s, so it is just a question of how.
It sure would be great if Roku could entice Media Monkey into creating a version of their excellent media player app for Roku - that plays music stored on a USB stick. That would likely be the answer for a lot of people.

I don't know if this is causing your problem or not, but there is another issue with the RMP resume play feature. the resume play feature is intended to pickup where someone has exited a file. works great for someone listening to an audio book. the problem is that the marker RMP uses doesn't seem to go away. I have played files all the way to the end and I find that the next time I play it, it still starts at the marker.
the problem might be that there is a return marker a few seconds into some of your files.
Thanks. Is there a way to check that?
Honestly, I do not think that is it, as I have copied the mp3 files onto the USB stick from my computer. I have not been listening to songs partially there and I have not made it a regular practice to listen to only parts of songs when using RMP. It happens quite a bit, but not always.

the marker seems to get set when you exit a file or the player. the resume play was not there when RMP 5 first came out. it was added at the request of some users. I don't think the programmer thought it all the way through when that code was added. I would prefer that they rip it out. at the very least have a toggle to turn it on or off.
the only thing that I know that you might try is when you find a file that does not start from the beginning, select start from the beginning, then immediately exit the file. sometimes that works to clear the marker.
I have actually experimented with it and found that if you have a folder with just one file and the marker is towards the end of the file, you can get it to repeat just the end of the file over and over.
