Pulling the plug too many times

I have an Ultra 4660X and here lately I have had to unplug the thing on many occasions to get it to exit an app. Doesn't matter what app I am in at the time sometimes when it finishes a video it will not go back to the menu and just sits there. I have hit every button on the remote to no avail. The only thing that fixes is a hard reset. Wondering if the box is getting too outdated and should I get a new one>

Re: Pulling the plug too many times

While the 4660 is an older version, it's not that old. I'm more suspicious of your remote than the player itself. I'm assuming you've tried replacing the batteries. Since you're saying it happens with all channels, the remote seems more likely the culprit. You could try an inexpensive generic IR remote that can be found almost anywhere that sells electronic devices. Just make sure they list Roku as a supported brand. I've seem them as low as $6-7 in some stores. An inexpensive way to see if it's the remote. Just remember that with an IR remote there must be a clear line of sight between the remote and the Roku.
