There must be a way to avoid them, since I have never seen one. Just guessing, but the last time I recall reading about some ad popping over a person's Roku screen, it was actually coming from an app on his phone, and he had allowed his phone to cast to his roku, so that app was taking advantage of that to put ads on his TV. Any chance that anything like that is going on?
