Welcome to the Roku Community, @mcbeekel!
Thanks for sharing this issue with us. We'd like to assist you so you can get back on streaming quickly.
You may try to follow the steps below to see if they improve the picture-freezing problem you are experiencing.
- Try changing the HDMI Cable. HDMI cables are responsible for transferring both high-definition audio and video from one device to another. A defective HDMI cable could affect the transmission of the video or audio, which results in a deteriorated streaming quality or this problem. Resorting to change in a high-speed HDMI cable might make a difference.
- Do a reboot to your device. Navigate to Settings > System > Power (If there is no Power submenu, proceed to the next step.) > System restart. This will bring back the device to its normal operation.
- Try connecting the device to another HDMI port on the TV. It could be possible that the HDMI port on the TV is what's causing the glitch. Transferring it to another HDMI port might resolve the issue you're experiencing.
- If the issue continues, try connecting the device to a different TV. This will help you determine if the problem lies with the device or the original TV. If the issue does not persist on the other TV, then it may be a problem with the first TV.
We hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.
All the best,
Emman
