Hi. I have clicked over to my Roku HDMI channel on my TV, but the Roku logo only comes up on the screen. No menu, no multi-select options, nothing. I’ve gotten a new clicker, changed batteries, unplugged and replugged the following: power cord from the device, power cord from the wall, HDMI from the device, HDMI from the TV. Do I need a new device entirely?
Maybe, but that's not generally what we'd want to have happen. If your Roku device is really old, it could have reached end of life. How old is the device?
What model number is your Roku?
You said the Roku logo comes up, but it isn't really clear what you mean. Do you mean a bouncing Roku screen with music? Or do you mean simply a static screen with a Roku logo showing?

Thanks so much for getting back to me!
it’s a Roku 2, so I suppose it’s old?
and the screen is static. Just a giant “Roku” sitting there!
I'm getting the feeling an upgrade is needed…!
If it's the model 2720 Roku 2 then yes, I'd replace it. If it's a model 4210, it's still an old device, but I'd want to get as much out of that as I could. My Roku 2 (4210) still works, though it's not my everyday device.
A static Roku screen is very unusual. I've never seen that. It's always been a dancing Roku that has been the standard bootup screen. This really shouldn't matter, but have you tried a different HDMI port. Again, I don't think it will make a difference, but I would try that just to try whatever I could to extend the life of the device. Again, that's if it's a model 4210.
If it's the 2720, go ahead and replace it. It's 8 years old. You'll appreciate the experience of the newer device. In fact, the 2720 has been dropped by some app makers (not all, but some major ones).
