As others have indicated, my own solution was to turn off Dolby Vision and take the Roku out of automatic display selection and set it to HDR10 at 60 Hz. In hours of watching I have not had another black screen occur.
The above solved the issue for me as well, go to Roku Display settings, choose HDR and take the Roku out of automatic display selection (5X Home, Down, Left, 3X Up). Roku has a problem with Dolby Vision which has not yet been resolved.
Yes, there's a DV issue, but it appears it's only with the LG OLED sets. I have no issues with my LED/LCD LG set, and I haven't heard of anyone else that had something other than the OLED sets. It certainly should make troubleshooting a bit easier.
I posted previously re:the same issues with my LG 55OLED TV and my new ROKU Ultra 4800 which worked flawlessly for the first few weeks then went to occasional black screen following the update as others have described. I have opted to utilize the NetFlix app native to the television for video processing and route the sound processing through my AV Marantz 6012 SR. So far it works without any flashing or image degradation and renders DV and surround just fine. Still doesn't let ROKU off the hook for a better solution.

I can confirm this is happening to me as well.
I have an LG OLED65CXPUA TV, Roku Ultra 4800X, connected through a Denon AVRS70H receiver.
I'm using the Media Player HDMI input on the Denon which is closest to the HDMI out port as recommended. Plus I'm using a high speed Fiber cable between the Denon Receiver and teh TV, and an 8K rated high speed HDMI cable between the Roku and the Denon.
Everything was working flawlessly with this setup prior to the update to Roku OS 10. Now, it will randomly flash black for a few seconds and then come back and it will display the Dolby Vision logo in the upper right of the screen. The audio continues uninterrupted.
This happens with any app I'm watching through (Youtube TV, Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, etc.) this doesn't happen when I watch through any of the LG TV version of these apps, so this is clearly a Roku issue and seems directly related to something in the 10.0 update.
Yeah Dolby Vision is already off.
There's a fix around this, turn off DV and force Roku not to update display automatically, see previous posts which explains, hopefully Roku will fix this, it seems to be a problem with LG OLED displays.
Let me reiterate my prior comments.
I have a Sony X900F that has this same problem.
Turning off auto recovery in the "secret menu" did nothing.
Making Roku use HDR10 at 60Hz rather than "auto display selection" (defaulting to DV) fixed the problem on my display.
Turning off auto recovery in the secret menu won't do anything until you first change Roku display settings from DV to HDR, all that auto recovery does is stop the Roku from switching the display back to DV after you turn the unit off.
Okay, I changed the display settings from Auto to HDR and disabled auto-recovery.
Will see later when watching TV tonight if it clears up the flashing black issue.
Clearly though, this is not a fix but a work-around. Hopefully Roku will address this issue in an update so that we can take full advantage of what we paid for.
