Non continuity of program after switching back to channel after commercial break

I'm watching Hulu tv through a Roku ultra connected to a DSL modem via ethernet cable. The problem is that when I leave the primary channel during a commercial break to check something else, when I turn back to the primary channel it picks up the program at the wrong point in the story. It brings me back in at a previous point in the show. It could be 5 minutes , 10 minutes or any time previous to where it should be, it's not consistent. My ISP assures me it's not a bandwidth problem and I received no plausible answers on the Hulu forum. I don't know what is causing this discontinuity. This is happening more and more to the extent that sometimes I never get to see the rest of a show. Please somebody give me a clue as to how to identify and fix this problem . Thank you .

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community.

Have you checked other channels if the same issue occurs? If the problem only affects Hulu, we suggest you remove the channel and then reinstall it. To ensure the process is successful, restart your device before adding the channel back in. Do this from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.) > System restart.
