The Roku Premiere that the family keeps around no longer receives signals. Some troubleshooting advice from Roku support guides as well as Roku community forums have been helpful in shared efforts to identify a cause for the dysfunction. The item is outside of the Roku 1-year warranty period. The Roku Premiere is labeled as B-stock and is the updatable 4620x model, so the design includes only a HDMI port plus a DC-in power adapter port. A handful of actions are listed to document testing of the Roku for operationality in case it may be of use to another forum member.
Steps during troubleshooting:
-Roku streaming player power adapter is tested and power light indicator is functional.
-Roku Premiere remote is fitted with functional batteries.
-Roku Premiere is connected to TV with a HDMI. Many HDMI cords were tested without any signal from the TV.
-Roku Premiere is reconnected to VIZIO HDTV, VIZIO LEDTV, SAMSUNG HDTV. The source is set on the TV to match specified HDMI port, no signal is shown on the display.
-Reset button on the back of the streaming player is held for a brief moment without any response from the TV or the Roku Premiere.
-Star button on the Roku remote does not produce any response from Roku Premiere player or connected TV..
-Automatic updates for Roku OS 10 cannot be verified without input from a TV signal. There is no USB port available to manually upgrade the software.
What can be done about this Roku Premiere?

The reset button performs a factory reset that erases all retained settings so that you can set the Roku up again from scratch, as though it had just come out of the box. The reset button must be pressed and held for a MINIMUM of 30 seconds to initiate the reset.
