Netflix and buffering

I saw some old articles on this but nothing recent. Netflix on my wireless roku tv has issues with buffering. Other things like disney + and youtube seem to work just fine. Netflix from a computer or cell phone works fine.  Its just one service on the tv that doesnt work fine.  I'd blame the tv but other services work right. I'd blame the service but it works right everywhere else and its issues seem to be only at night.

I dont know if stream services get overloaded on too many people watching the same thing. My tv is an older model only about 16mbps. I just hate to have to replace the TV if this is something I can fix.

Re: Netflix and buffering

Hi @darbok,

Thanks for reaching out to the Roku community regarding the playback issue with Netflix.

If you occasionally see poor video quality or rebuffering, this may be due to network congestion.

  • Check whether your internet service provider (e.g., Comcast, AT&T, Spectrum) is currently experiencing issues.
  • Reduce usage of other devices currently accessing the network, such as other streaming players, computers, game consoles, and mobile devices.

We also recommend troubleshooting channel issues: Follow these steps in order:
1.Navigate to the channel tile on the Roku home screen, press the * key on your remote, and choose 'Remove channel'.
2.Next, restart your device from Settings>System>System restart. (For Roku TV Settings>System>Power>System restart)
3.Once your player/TV starts up again, go to 'Streaming Channels' on the Home screen, and add the channel back once more.

If that still doesn't clear up the issue you're experiencing, we recommend contacting the channel provider directly to follow up for more help. They’ll be able to best assist with any issues that are occurring within their channel.
