My Sharp Roku TV Won’t Come On

My Sharp Roku tv won’t turn on anymore. It was working yesterday, but while we were watching tv it just shut off. And ever since then it won’t come on anymore. I’ve reset it, unplugged it for 60 seconds, and I’ve hold the power button for 15 sec and it just won’t come on. The light for the tv button has been blinking but it refuses to come on what do I do? Hey @Lucy77

We do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Have you tried contacting the TV manufacturer to inquire further? I'd suggest starting there to see what options or suggestions they can provide. Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support and warranty services for their products running the Roku OS.

For a list of Roku TV manufacturers contact information, visit our Community post here: Contacting Support for Your Roku TV

Thank you for your understanding.

All the best,

Kariza

Re: My Sharp Roku TV Won’t Come On

This just happened to my TV as well! Ours is only 2 years old. And we can’t get any help. Both Sharp and Roku have been very unhelpful about the issue. I will not buy another product from either

@love_jana22

This is the very first post you've made on this board. You have not asked this board for help, but are complaining about not getting help. If you want help, we'll certainly give it a try. If you just want to complain, I'll move along and help those that want help.

I'll close by saying that Roku doesn't make TVs. Roku will provide the "smarts" for a smart TV manufacturer, which they advertise as Roku TV. But Sharp makes Sharp TVs (actually Hisense builds them for Sharp, but Sharp is the brand and seller, not Roku).

It's like saying "I'm not going to buy a Chevrolet or Michelin tires because the car won't start." Chevy, sure. They made the car. But Michelin? Tires have nothing to do with the car not starting. Flat tire, yes, Michelin. But not a failure to start.

Likewise, Roku didn't build the TV, and the Roku software that controls the smart TV portion has nothing to do with the TV not starting.

But you make whatever decision works for you. There are plenty of good streaming platforms included in TVs, or as external devices to add to a TV. Roku is just one. The best, in my opinion, but other platforms work well. Google/Android TV is good, and is available in a streaming device or included in a TV. Amazon Fire TV is also good, as a streaming device or included in a TV. Apple TV is only as a streaming device, but is good. Other platforms are far inferior to these four.

Re: My Sharp Roku TV Won’t Come On

Yea so I have been in touch with Roku and Sharp. I came here to look for answers also. This reply just goes with the service I got when dealing with Roku. Very rude

Re: My Sharp Roku TV Won’t Come On

@love_jana22

You've now made two posts here, neither one asking for help. As for rude, that was certainly not my intent, but was intended to make you aware of the situation. If you don't like it, fine. Maybe someone else will sugar-coat things for you. I'll be factual and straight to the point. But, they will be aware that you've posted twice complaining about not getting help, but never yet asking for help. They will know up front that you simply want to complain. I shall indeed move along now, and let someone else deal with you. (Oh, notice my signature. I do not work for Roku. I'm just another Roku user. If you don't like dealing with me, fine. But that's not Roku's fault. I say this so you don't again try to assign blame to Roku where it isn't due.)
