Solving playback issues

I'm trying to get my Amazon Fire Stick audio to go through the Roku streaming sound bar so when I'm using my Firestick (which has some downloaded apps that Roku doesn't offer) it plays through the sound bar.

With only one HDMI in the Roku sound bar, is this possible? I get volume "clicks" but nothing else switching to the Firestick as far as Audio goes. When I switch to TV speakers in the TV settings it's fine but no sound bar audio. I had to enable CEC. This TV doesn't seem to have ARC.  It's an Emerson LC391EM3. It does have an RCA digital audio out. Right now, the stream bar is HDMI connected to the first HDMI port behind the TV and it works only with ROKU TV. The Amazon fire stick is connected to another HDMI port behind the TV.

I'm confused about the Roku TV reference. The Emerson isn't a Roku TV, and appears to be part of the issue by not supporting ARC, for which you are seeking a workaround.

You later mention a Roku TV, but don't provide information on it. Is the Sound Bar connected to the Emerson? Or to the Roku TV?

Without ARC (or Optical) you wont get any sound from the soundbar when using the TV's tuner/apps/connected devices.

Since the TV supports Coaxial digital out, you could get a coaxial-to-optical converter and connect it that way to get sound, but it may be limited to just the TV tuner (it may not redirect output from the TV inputs to the TV coaxial output).  You probably wouldnt know until you actually tried.

Your best bet is to get an HDMI audio extractor and connect it between the FS and the TV, routing the optical output from it to the streambar's optical input.

You can find all sorts of HDMI audio extractors on Amazon.

I was looking for that solution last night and Amazon kept directing me to multi port HDMI.

Right. I have the Streambar, which is a smaller device, but similar in that respect. But you mentioned Roku TV. Are you saying you were describing a Roku device as Roku TV? If so, don't. Those are not the same thing.

Ok, I finally found the correct end around thanks to your insight. 

Trying to find it was tedious on Amazon because of wording. It's not HDMI though.

RCA Digital Audio Plug comes out from TV to my little Converter. Then, a Toslink goes out from converter into the Roku Stream Bar. The Firestick is still in an HDMI Port behind the TV. I have 2 streaming sources into the sound bar now and just change the input to toggle them. Thanks!
