Low power unable to play via TV usb output

My Roku stick keeps refusing to open up at all merely posts and error that the power supply is too low using the TV's usb power output. This would be fine and manageable if it weren't for the fact that my TV has no USB outputs at all. My Roku is direct from the mains and the lower is fine.

Pleas can you suggest permanent fix or arrange a replacement stick as a matter of urgency

 Many thanks

Daniel

Re: Low power unable to play via TV usb output

Do you have another power adapter from another device that you can try?  Make sure the fine print on it rates its output as at least 1 amp.

It also can't hurt to try a different USB cable between the stick and the adapter.

Re: Low power unable to play via TV usb output

In addition to what @makaiguy suggests, you might want to unplug the AC>USB adapter from the wall socket for a few minutes and then replug it back in, perhaps to a different socket  (just like everything else...the AC>USB adapters need a hard reset sometimes).
