I am trying to respond with the information you requested but I can't find "settings" on the app and I can't look on the Roku home screen because I cant get by the "insufficient power" screen. Very frustrating. And yes, its connected with the provide micro usb chord to the provided adaptor plugged into a power strip.

Thanks for letting us know about the issue you're experiencing.
Please be advised that you can also view your device serial number on our website my.roku.com. To do this, go to My Account, then scroll down to the bottom part of the screen to see the devices' information linked to your Roku email. You can also check the back or underneath the player itself.
