Hello,
I am using Roku Streaming Stick+ (3810X), software version 10.0.0 build 4195-50 and AirPlay in general works fine: I can cast my iOS/macOS devices screens. However, when I'm trying to cast a video (media info below), e.g. opened in a browser tab via direct URL and cast it to the device, all I can see in the play on macOS/iOS is the time on progress bar jumping between 00:01 and 00:02 seconds (back and forth) and no video or no sound are streamed to the stick.
It used to work fine several month ago, but something has changes, most likely Roku OS version. Also, I can stream the same content to AppleTV gen. 4 without a single issue.
Would appreciate any help and/or insights on this problem. Thank you.

There were updates to the AirPlay components for RokuOS10 - this probably accounts for the changed AP behavior.
There is also a newer RokuOS build (4198) available - check for updates (Settings/System/System updates/Check now)
Otherwise, report this directly to both Roku and Apple:
Roku: chat or email - https://support.roku.com/contactus/contact-options (select setup/ultra/other/need more help?)
Thank you. While the latest OS update didn't fix this problem, it help me to remember "Web Video Caster" app which works great and doesn't have a single issue even in non-proxy mode (i.e. content isn't being recoded on the iOS device). So for now I am fine with this solution.
I still think that this is the problem of Roku OS rather than hardware or Apple because: 1) it used to work; 2) streaming to AppleTV works without a single issue.

Again, both the RokuOS firmware (coded by Roku) and the AirPlay2 components (coded by Apple) were updated with RokuOS 10 - which is why you should directly contact both about the issue.

An Airplay2 update (1.14.104) was released today (5/25) - check for updates (Settings/System/System updates/Check now) and test your AP connections again.
Any way I can update AP separately or just check general Software update & install any new versions?

Check for updates - it will will auto download/install any app updates (including AirPlay2) it finds.
No updates found but I will check tomorrow or on a day, just to make sure. But what's interesting, you are referring to "An Airplay2 update (1.14.104)" but when I opened AirPlay settings on my device I don't see anything close to this number. The AirPlay version is 3.2.0.13, App 23.55.0, Engine 8.0.0 (roku4-7R138) and Streaming Engine 1.530.21 All numbers are much higher than 1.14.104 🤔
Those are AirPlay's internal protocol versions - those are important too, but dont reflect the version of the actual apps on the Roku platform itself.
I'm referring to the external/platform version of the apps (Home 3x, Up 2x, L, R, L, R, L), which are what actually update as (hidden) apps via Roku's updater.
Hi!
I have the same issue on my 3810X - Roku Streaming Stick+ (SW v10.0.0 - build 4209-50). Screen mirror works, streaming audio from Apple Music app works, but trying to stream a video file (MP4, MKV) will not work. I've tried with Quick Time, Airflow App, Apple TV app, Safari/Chrome, Elmedia Player, they all have the same behaviour: Roku enters the AirPlay menu and does nothing.
When trying the same thing on a Samsung TV with AirPlay 2 support it works. Any idea what could be wrong?
Sadly it's mainly the only reason I bought the Roku stick for, and it's the only feature that is not working...
LE: In the "secret" menu I have: AirPlay - Version 1.14 - build 122 / AirPlay Daemon - Version 1.14 - build 104
Thanks,
Sorin
