If you get "No cable connected", here is one thing to check

I saw a lot of questions, here and on other discussion boards, relating to various versions of "No cable connected" for Roku players.

That was happening with my Roku Ultra, and the advice offered was things like getting a new HDMI cable and using the manufacturer power cord.

However, I found the way to fix it was to go to Settings ==> System ==> Power, and turning off (unchecking) the "Auto power saving" option there. That immediately solved the problem.

That will work, but you could have just pressed Home or another non-TV control button on your Roku remote to wake up your Ultra from power saving.

Thank you for the suggestion.

But, you may also have noticed how I and many people are annoyed by needing to press buttons, and the wake-up delay, and the confusion over what is causing that. I think the fact that it shows as an error on the TV also adds to the confusion. Not sure how to avoid that.

Perhaps you could say we are all rushing too much, and you may be right, but I would rather the old behavior of just working when I connect to the Roku.
