Comcast is my main carrier so I use the Xfin remote to switch to the HMDI 2 for the Roku. Ever since I;ve had the Express+ I've had to re-power many times in order to use the Roku. My daughter has a 4630x can't belive the issues I have.
Are these +'s known to be bad? I kind of tired of all the restarting.
I bought this direct from Roku , should this be upgraded, replaced? etc?
Thanks
It might help to describe in what way it doesn't work. You mention the Xfinity remote but I'm not sure if you mean to implicate that in the issue. I assume the thing being re-powered is the Roku but I'm not sure.
I use the Xfin remote only to change inputs. When I change to the HDMI, that that Roku is connected to, my tv shows " no signal" and that's when I have to re-start the Roku.
By any chance, is the TV a Sony? If so, this thread might supply some clues.
No, an LG
Hello @pbman1953
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community!
Could you tell us how your Roku Express+ is powered? Is it connected to the USB port of the TV or a wall outlet? In some cases, the USB power provided by the TV is not sufficient to power the device. Even though your Roku device may appear to be working, running with insufficient power can lead to instability, crashing, and other unpredictable behavior.
Using the included power cord and power adapter, we suggest plugging your Roku into a working power outlet in the wall. Powering it through a power outlet in the wall has the additional advantage that your Roku player will not need to power up every time you turn on your TV. This means your Roku player will be up and running faster than it would be connected to a TV.
Let us know how it goes.
All the best,
Kariza
I've always used the power supply it came with. The other day I downloaded version 10 and it seems to be better.
If that changes, I write back
thanks
