The apps will automatically replicate to all devices on your account (unless an app isnt supported on a specific model).
Otherwise, as long as all the devices have the same app, if you pause/end the playback of any content in an app, and then load the app on the other device, you should be able to resume the content from where its still paused/ended on the other device.
Just remember that if you leave the first device's app content paused and finish it on another device, it may have the first devices pause point "saved", so its best to pause, then close out the app, then resume the content in the app on the second device, etc.
