Hi all,
We bought my mom a Roku TV 2 months ago. Ant1 stopped working a few weeks ago and today, another call from her to say Skai is not working.
Please help. My elderly mom needs to watch her shows. What curse is this? 😆
How can I fix this? Help me out please...
TIA,
N

Hopefully after reading the lengthy post above, you now have a better understanding how the Greek Lite TV and Greek TV Channel works. As with any developed Channel on the Roku, you will only be able to view the content if the source stream is available. There may be times when content availability will be unaccessible if problem with the source stream occurs. I like this channel developer because his development is open source and has provided you a manner to monitor the Status of his Channel's source streams. I really wish more channel developers would implement a similar feature.
As such, good news... you can tell your mother SKAI HD seems to be loading and working properly on the Roku devices today. (Currently Happy Traveller is on).
Hi @R_Manoula,
Thanks for reaching out to the Roku community!
We recommend starting here to troubleshoot channel issues: Follow these steps in order:
1.Navigate to the channel tile on the Roku home screen, press the * key on your remote, and choose 'Remove channel'.
2.Next, restart your device from Settings>System>System restart. (For Roku TV Settings>System>Power>System restart)
3.Once your player/TV starts up again, go to 'Streaming Channels' on the Home screen, and add the channel back once more.
You may also refer to this link: How do I resolve channel playback issues? | Official Roku ... - Roku
If that still doesn't clear up the issue you're experiencing, we recommend contacting the channel provider directly to follow up for more help. They’ll be able to best assist with any issues that are occurring within their channel.
We appreciate your patience with this matter!
Thanks,
Mary
The streaming source is probably unavailable/down as this is a crawler based channel using the .m3u8 extension,(playlist) or the source stream address has changed.
Appears that both ANT1 and SKAI are still unavailable/reported as down. Will probably remain so until developer changes the .m3u8 address or the source stream becomes available at that address again.
Appears these are all publicly available channels, but the public channel owner can request not to be linked (made available) so this can also be a remote possibility.
The only support I see is https://about.greektv.page/
There is also a Channel Status page here https://greektv.page/status/ that you can monitor for your mother when she has issues.
Hope that helps you.
Thank you both. @AvsGunnar, it looks like both Ant1 and Skai are working on the status page from the link you’ve shared.
@RokuMary-F, I have also removed the channel and added it again. Could there be another way to fix this?
I do see that it says in some places it requires a subscription at $2.99. Should I click on there and see if this resolves the issue? It seemed to have been free and working before and didn’t ask for a subscription. Now it does.
I’m a bit confused. Thank again for all your expertise on this matter!

The ANT1 and SKAI streams are still both down according to the Status Page I linked you to. (See attached photos how to read them.) I had installed this Channel yesterday (Greek TV Lite US - free ad version) to test and verified down. Installed again today and both ANT1 and SKAI (non-HD) are not working.
I was able to stream SKAI HD using a non-Roku method so I can tell you that one is Up but my Rokus were unable to stream SKAI HD. I was not able to stream ANT1 or ANT1 HD using either Roku or the alternate method. (Note: using developer's Github m3u8 source)
I tested about five different channels using Roku and the Status Page seems to be pretty accurate. Those showing Down (red) did not load, those showing Up (green), did successfully load. I was able to load HD channels as well. However, even though ANT1 HD and SKAI HD are showing Green and UP, I think the problem may be a Roku compatibility/decoding issue there regarding the HD versions of those two channels.
Often times when I am casting to my Roku, I can not stream certain HD HLS live streams, so normally have to stream an alternate 720 stream. It may be a similar issue with these two particular HD HLS streams of ANT1 HD and SKAI HD. Until the standard ANT1 and SKAI become available again (green) you may have to watch another channel.
According to the Developer, the only difference between the free (ad supported) and 2.99 subscription is no ads and an enhanced GUI interface. Basically helping him out a little with expenses but does not give you any additional access to Channels.
You can try contacting developer at his Telegram. https://t.me/greektvchannel Although he doesn't actually maintain the streams, maybe his crawler app can find another working stream if available if these are extended downtimes. Not sure how often he updates his app.
You can also try periodically updating your Greek TV Lite App, but honestly, until the stream link is repaired, those two channels are going to be unavailable. I will check over the next few days and provide you with an update if I notice if something changes.
Hope that helps clears it up for you. Feel free to post back with any other questions.

My mom was so happy on Friday!
Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and info! It still seems very complicated but it’s great to have such a community!
Many thanks!
