So, this started with the mysterious volume up or down issue that others have shared before. It was ok to deal with that being once in a while.
Then it started getting annoying with TV mysteriously turning on at night volume to 100 waking me up middle of night.
Now My TCL Roku TV turns on and off by itself. Once on, different random buttons are pressed moving to different apps or settings or whatever. Then it turns itself off. I can see IR receiver blinking rigorously getting the signal. I cannot watch anything more than 5 minutes when it does something crazy and turns off.
I have done factory reset, uninstalled all the roku apps, uninstalled roku app on my phone and even blocked IR receiver on TV so no external signal comes and it still happens. So, the signal is from TV itself. Now my Roku TV is pretty useless since I can't watch anything uninterrupted.
Thoughts?
Someone on your network is messing with you using the app as a remote?
Nope, tried keeping it offline (I only do wired connection so just unplugged it) plus I'm the only one living in my home and no one has access to my network. Also, it's not app because you cannot click on volume button on app to go from 0 to 100 in few seconds which you can with remote. You must be "The Flash" to tap volume button on app 100 times so fast.
Does it do it when the batteries are NOT in the remote?

@DBDukes Yes, I have tried removing batteries.
Currently, I have Aluminum tape covering its IR receiver so it's not gettign any remote signal. I did that just in chance it's getting signal from a neighbor's remote somehow. I'm leaving tape in it for now.
I have validated that it's no longer getting signal from my remote at all in all angles.
Did you find a resolution? Mine is doing the same thing.
@cysc1983 Nothing worked unfortunately so I boxed the TV and stored it in my basement hoping one day it'll be fixed or trashed. Haven't looked back since then.
