ESPN+ Subscribed through Roku will not work on other devices

I have an ESPN+ monthly subscription (not Disney+) that is billed through Roku.  When attempting to use the app on any non-Roku device (PC browser, TV app, set top box, phone, etc) the subscription cannot be accessed.  This even though logged in to the Disney account and Roku powered off.  This issue does not show up with other apps - ie DirecTV- only ESPN+.  Is the solution to delete the Roku account and subscribe directly with ESPN?

Yes.  When you wish to view a channel on multiple platforms your best bet is to subscribe directly with the channel via its website.  When subscribing through a third party (Roku  Amazon, Sling, etc) you typically can only access that channel on that third party's platform.
