. Does anyone know what I am talking about? And how to fix this aggravating problem?

Jump to solution

Tv powers off after about 5 hours we get a message on the bottom left of our tv that says tv will power off in 5 minutes and this continues until 5 minutes are up then tv shuts off. I use the RUKU remote to turn the TV back on. This did not happen until we purchased the Streambar. This is when this started happening every day. I have tried to figure out what the problem is or what is causing this to happen. It almost like of inactivity but we are watching a show and it does this in the middle of the show we are watching it’s so aggravating. Does anyone know what I am talking about or how to fix it??

Since you are using the Streambar and not the TV or its apps, you TV may have an auto-off feature enabled in the TV's settings that is causing this.

You didnt mention your TV brand/model # - you'll need to go through the TV's settings and disable that setting.

I will check the settings on our tv which is a Pioneer. We have never had this problem with our TV until I hooked up the streambar, so to me it definitely seems more a issue with the streambar.

Roku does have a "bandwidth saver" feature that is enabled by default and kicks in after 4 hours of inactivity:  Settings/Network/Bandwidth saver

But, its 4 hours, and 4 hours of inactivity, so this is unlikely to be the source when you are using your streambar.
