Device overheating message, but no external Roku device

Jump to solution

I have a Samsung 65inch Q90R. Roku premier software was loaded by Geek Squad when the TV was delivered in November 2019. I have been getting a persistent warning that my device was overheating and I am referred to a Roku website suggesting that the device be unplugged for at least 10 minutes. it also suggests the device not be used if the problem continues. I am not sure what "device" the message refers to since I do not have an external Roku device, but I have unplugged everything for 10 minutes on multiple occasions. The message continues to appear. Can anyone help me with this problem?

Samsung as far as I know never made a RokuTV.  They may have The Roku Channel as one of its apps, but that wouldn't give you an overheating message.  There's no such thing as "Roku premier software", so that makes me think they installed a Roku Premiere device.  Do you have a Roku remote as well as a Samsung remote?  I see this TV uses a "One Connect" box.  Find that box and see if there's a Roku device connected to it.
