Connected but not able to do anything

It shows the picture on my tv, the roku light is on but the remote wont cut it on, or do anything. Ive reset it and ive unplugged it. Any suggestions?

What is the Roku model number?

By the way, what does "shows the picture" mean? You see the Roku bootup screen? You see the Roku main menu? Explain in detail what's happening.
