Every time I go to the CBS News channel and select Los Angeles it turns on my captions, I have to go into the Roku settings and turn them off, I go back to the channel and it turns them back on. I used to watch this channel everyday until it started this about 1.5 weeks ago. No other channel is doing this and if I turn it off and go back to the channel it just turns it back on.
How can I stop it from changing my settings for my Roku, it's super annoying...
Hey everyone, I found a work around for this issue. When you start the channel and it turns on the captions you hit the star button and turn them back off, you have to do this every time you coma back to this channel because it's still turning on your captions for every channel.
Make sure you report the issue to both Roku and CBS:
Roku:
chat or email: https://support.roku.com/contactus/contact-options (choose setup/ultra/other/need more help?)
CBS:
https://www.cbs.com/showfeedback/
cbsnewsappfeedback-roku@cbsinteractive.com
When I tried to do this on the link you just sent first it would not accept the copy and paste that was my question so I retyped it and then was put in an endless capta selection stairs, them chimmintys, then buses, then crosswalks. it would never let me advance to submit the question.
this is the worst
worked with the Roku one worked with no problems
I guess CBS News just is not up to technology standards
Thanks for the post.
Is this the only channel that you are experiencing this issue with? If so, as @StreamerUser mentioned, we would recommend reaching out to the channel provider to see what insight they can provide. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.
Thanks,
Danny
Thanks, yeah so far it's just this channel. Tried to write them but could not get their capcha to work to send the message...
Same problem just started here on all three of my Roku's. When i go to CBSN, closed caption is turned on for all other channels.
So annoying, were you able to use the link to the CBS help in the first reply to this thread?? I tried but was unable to get there system to work, maybe you can send them a message and ask whats up since I was not able to get it to work...
Thanks~!
The link is incorrect, you have to go to "contact us" on CBSN. I sent a request to fix it.
Thank you~! Hope it gets fixed~!!!
