Black screen with weird automated voice talking

Our Roku TV stopped working all of the sudden and is now just a black screen when it turns on and a weird automated robotic voice saying random things like “main menu 8 items” and I can hear the clicking of buttons when I press but nothing happens outside of that. No change over that last few days so it wasn’t a weird fluke either. I’m just not sure how to try and fix it, thank you!

You may have turned on the "screen reader" by pressing * four times on your remote.  You can turn it off the same way.  I hate to say it, but it sounds like there's a pretty major malfunction in your TV - the backlight.  Try unplugging the TV's power for an hour or so, but if it doesn't come back you'll have to contact the manufacturer of the TV.
