Black frame top and bottom of Movies on Netflix and Disney

All of a sudden some of my movies on Netflix, Prime, and Disney show a black horizontal bar, top and bottom.  Each bar goes from left of the screen to the right, and its height is about 1/5 of the screen.  My television experience is okay on my LG TV, but not the movies.

How do I get rid of these bars.  My aspect for the LG is 16:9.

Thank you.

Stephen

Re: Black frame top and bottom of Movies on Netflix and Disney

My first guess would be that these are movies filmed in a wider format than 16:9 and they chose not to pan and scan or crop to 16:9.  For example, 2.39:1 is a common movie format and some formats are wider.

Last night I watched a movie on Amazon Prime that was shot in a pretty rare 1.19:1 ratio so it had big black bars to the right and left on my 16:9 TV.
