Tree shadows triggering events

Jump to solution

Looks like events are getting triggered when trees move significantly enough to cause shadows on the ground to move around.  Is there a particular setting to use that would squelch that?

Thanks!

Hey @djrichard,

It looks like you're trying to reduce motion alerts from things like shadows caused by swaying branches.

You can adjust the motion detection settings in the Roku Smart Home app by setting up a “detection zone” to limit where motion is detected. Here’s how:

  1. Tap Home in the bottom menu

  2. Select your outdoor camera

  3. Go to Settings

  4. Tap Detection Settings

  5. Tap Suggest a Detection Zone to let the app help reduce false alerts

  6. Or choose Start Over to draw your zone

More info here: here

Hope this helps get things running smoother!
