Roku setup

I'm back home now, was able to connect at 2 different hotels.  Now it says NOT CONNECTED and the remote isn't responding.  The remote on my iphone also doesn't recognize any devices.  Disconnected it and reconnected it, pushed the reset button, nothing works.  I can't get into the settings because the remote doesn't work.  Please help!

I figured it out.  Turned out replacing the batteries in the remote did the trick.  Guess I should have checked the obvious stuff first.  Didn't think they'd need replaced this soon, only had it for 2 months.  🙂

I used to find the same thing re batteries whenever I traveled with the Roku.  I finally figured out that while packed away one or more remote buttons were getting pressed and draining the batteries. 

Now I slip a small piece of paper between the spring and one of the batteries so there is no electrical contact.  When I reach my destination, part of the setup process is to remove the paper, which I just then keep in the battery compartment for next use. 

I could just remove the batteries, but then I'd have to keep track of where I stashed them.  This way works better for me and my addled brain.
