I am just setting up the Roku express. Everything went well until the email screen. I cannot seem to get to that field and there is no keyboard showing like when I connected to Wi-fi. I did unplug the Roku and Wi-Fi and that did not solve the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
I reset box using paper clip and then made it to the email entry screen.
I am also having the same issue with my Roku Streaming Stick. exactly the same and I see no place to stick a paperclip in so I can't use that way. and I know the app works because the tv makes the same bleep sound when I try to use to up/down arrows to get to the email field. Anyone know what I need to do?
Some sticks have a reset button along one of the thin edges.
I had same issue. You need to hit the OK Button and then a keyboard pops up.
Thank you for the tip. I was unable to get any helpful information from Roku support.
I couldn't get any help from them either.
Hi @ma10
Thanks for the post.
We do not have enough details from your original message to make an effective suggestion. Could you tell us more about your concern? Do you receive an error code or message?
With more information, we can assist you further.
All the best,
Kariza
I have tried activating from both my Roku TV and my Roku, wired and wireless and cannot get anything to go through. The router shows the mac address in the accepted list and the routers shows the device connected to the router with a hard wire connection. I have tried at least a dozen times now.
Explain why we can't log into Roku with our account and manually add the mac address to active a device? Why do we have to rely on device to send an email instead of manually adding it ourselves? I tried to find "manually active a device" on the web site and could find nothing.
And yes, I have reset both devices using the factory reset and the button on the back.
There has to be a better way.
