Roku setup

I'm still not able to get my TV working, in spite of doing everything on here. I plugged my Roku Streaming Stick + into an empty HDMI port on my TCL Roku TV, to see if that would work, since the stick hasn't been updated.

For some reason, the TV doesn't recognize the Roku Stick. Is it impossible to use a Roku stick with a Roku TV? The only HDMI thing the TV recognizes is the Bluray player, but the Bluray player doesn't have any HDMI ports, so I can't try running it through the Bluray player, only from the ports on the TV.

If you connect the stick to the HDMI input that the Blu-ray player is using does it show up?  I don't have a TV I can check the exact menu phrasing right now, but look for "TV inputs" under Settings.  You may need to add the other HDMI input.
