Strange problem since purchasing a new Roku express

I have a Panasonic Tv and use Verizon FIOS. My older roku stopped working and we bought a new one. The TV is plugged into HDMI 1 and the ROKU  is connected through HDMI 2. When we try to change channels on the TV, it immediately changes to the ROKU setting ( HDMI 2). If we pull out all the plugs it will work for a day or two but then the problem comes back. We called Verizon and they insist there is nothing wrong with the set top box. Could the problem be the Roku?

@Judikalm

Could be conflict in CEC operations when using remote.

Try disabling the "1-Touch Play" from within Roku Express if enabled.

Settings..System..Control other Devices..Disable/Uncheck 1-touch play

Thanks I think that did it. But I’ll have to see if it continues to work since each time we rebooted it worked for a day or two.
