Three times this past week, Roku has logged me off and required me to start the whole process as if I were a first time user. The latest time, I turned the TV off and 10 minutes later, it turned itself on and required me to start the log-on process. Each time, I have to waste time going through the screens where Roku tries to sell me something. Then it loads my home screen with all sorts of garbage I don't want, which I then have to waste time to remove. It also scrambles the apps I do want, so I need to waste time reorganizing them in the display that works best for me. Finally, it logs me out of some of the apps, so I have to waste time logging back in. Each time, this takes the good part of an hour, so I have already wasted a couple hours of time this week. Since the screen shows that Roku is "updating" the app each time I do this, I have to assume everything is current, and that there is a defect in the programming that is not being fixed. I don't want to go keep going through this every few days.
That's not normal. What's the model number of your Roku device displayed under Settings->System->About and how are you powering it? If you're using the TV's USB port to power it, try a USB power adapter that can provide at least 1 Amp plugged into a wall outlet.
Hey, @Rosabelle. Thanks for posting!
Getting stuck in a loop where you have to log back in can be such a hassle, and we’re looking into this.
To help us dig into this more, could you share a bit more info about it?
Just hit us up soon so we can help you out!
