I brought a Roku express and connected via HDMI. I logged in with my account and received an activation email and after setting up each time it says the Roku is updating and will restart after. Once it restarts it takes me back to sending another activation email. I’ve done it multiple times and also tried a different account and it’s still not working.
This may not resolve anything, but it may be worth a shot.
Try a hard reset via the Reset button/pinhole (depending on model number, some have a button, others a pinhole). With power applied, press and hold for no less than 30 seconds. Pay no attention to the screen, or anything other than the clock. A full 30 seconds.
If that doesn't resolve it, there are some other workarounds to try, but this should be the quickest, easiest right now.
