We recently bought a Roku Stick 4K for a disabled family member.
We set it up at our house first to make sure it was working (and good thing we did, as first unit was defective... a little better QA would be appreciated).
Then the mandatory signing up for Roku account... not good, but okay, whatever, use our existing account
Then, see App list populated with all of our existing Apps (long list)... Trim that down to a handful on the new device.... and with NO warning whatsoever, find all of our Apps (and subscription logins) all removed from our other Roku Ultras? WTF? seriously. This is god-awful reprehensible default behavior. I won't be surprised if this is an old issue, long discussed... but as my Roku's have worked well for many years, I had no reason to assume a significant change in behavior like this, with no warning. And I haven't needed to use this forum before.
Up until now, I had nothing but good things to say about Roku, recommending to friends, etc. That is no longer true.
It is unacceptable, without adequate, clear forewarning, to sync every device on same account to using the same app list. And removing an app from one device should NOT impact other Roku's without warning, with an option to cancel and/or restrict deletion to that device only.
This design choice? (if it can be called that, seems overly generous) cost me over an hour of time. And my devices still aren't all set back up properly. really hating Roku about now...
