Retroactively linking TV to Roku account

A few years ago I purchased a Sharp Roku TV. At the time I didn't think I'd be a Roku user so I never activated it.  Now I would like to add Disney+ and Apple TV.  I've created a Roku account but need to know how to retroactively link the TV to the account so I can add the channels.

Thanks!

Re: Retroactively linking TV to Roku account

I imagine you have to perform a factory reset.  I don't know if that option is available from somewhere within the menus, but there should be a reset button on the back.  With the TV on press and hold that button for no less than 30 seconds.

Re: Retroactively linking TV to Roku account

On a Roku TV the menu path is the same as with a Roku streaming device:

From the Roku home screen:
Settings .. System .. Advanced system settings .. Factory reset.
Roku TV has one extra step: Factory reset everything.

Then follow the onscreen instructions.  The TV will restart and you'll have to set it up again from scratch.

IMPORTANT! When linking your device to a Roku account you may be directed to go to roku.com/link in a web browser on a computer or mobile device. Type this in very carefully and verify that you actually do go there. Otherwise you can end up at a scammer's fake Roku site where they may request you to pay bogus charges and will collect your payment information to use as they wish.  Roku does NOT charge for linking your set.  If you end up at ANY site not on roku.com (other than the https://my.roku.com/link that you'll get redirected to), back out and try again.
