Roku setup

I tried to do a factory reset and it hangs up at restart.  Goes through select language, choose wifi network and connect to wifi.  Then it says checking for updates and update available.  Then your ROKU will restart when update is installed.  Then I get the dancing ROKU only once and then I get a message on the tv - no signal check connections.  If I unplug the ROKU and plug it in again it starts with select language again.

What Roku model device are you using? How are you powering the Roku device? Is the device plugged into the TV USB port or is it plugged into a wall outlet?

I am using the ROKU Express. It is plugged into a wall outlet. I moved the tv into the room with the modem and same problem exists.

Some people have made it through the initial setup by using their phone as a hotspot and connecting to that just to get through the initial firmware update.  Just make sure your phone's hotspot is using 2.4GHz.

Hi  Tried to connect to a hotspot and the hotspot that I wanted to use did not show up in available networks to choose from.  So my ROKU Express is totally useless right now.
