I like to watch videos on my Toshiba Fire TV via a USB thumb drive.
IMO, the generic Fire TV "Media Player" leaves a lot to be desired, as do other players such as VLC. MX Player, and Kodi.
Roku Media Player is, hands down, the most simple, user-friendly, USB-compatible, Media Player I have encountered. (I have it on my Hisense Roku TV)
So, my question is, how do I install Roku Media Player on my Fire TV?
It's not listed in the App Store.
@yoYoWzzup, name one. As far as I know The Roku Channel is the only "Roku" app for non-Roku devices. The Fire devices are basically Android and the Roku is most definitely not. You may see channels (as Roku calls them) or apps (as anyone not working for Roku would call them) that are available for both platforms, but that's not the same as saying there's Roku apps available for Fire devices.
As far as I know, the Roku Media Player only runs on Roku devices.
I'm not yet 100% convinced that's the case, as other Roku apps can be downloaded to Fire TV.
I appreciate your input though, Strega.

Other than the Roku Channel itself, apparently none. Thanks for your input.
