Express 4k+ won't let me connect to speakers

I bought a roku express 4k+ and the add device section in settings only has an option for a remote, doesn't offer roku speakers.  Am I doing something wrong? It is not a roku tv, hense the express device.

Roku speakers don't work with Roku players:

"Requires Roku TV, Roku Streambar, Roku Streambar Pro, Roku Smart Soundbar
Does not work with other TVs, sound systems or Roku streaming players"
