The mobile app works fine as a remote, but I cannot get it to share photos, etc. Not sure why. Thanks

Can you please provide more information. Are you using an android or a iPhone? What operating system is it running? What Roku model are you using? Which firmware version is it running?
I'm not sure which firmware version its running, the roku says it is up to date on software. Model # 3930RW - Roku Express. Software version 10.5.0 build 4208-AE. I'm using an android phone. the phone is Android version 11 and is also up to date. As I said, the remote option of the app works great. Its just the media casting that won't work.
Be sure you’re using the official Roku remote control app for your device. There are several different versions of a Roku remote app on the Google play store that aren’t made by Roku. Your android device should be running android 12.
OK so yeah, I am using the "official app". (Duh) I wouldn't have asked about some cheap ad filled knockoff, but perhaps cause its not android 12, that might explain it.

@OddyseyT The reason I asked about the Roku app is cause there are about 10 versions of the Roku app available in the Google play store. But only one is made by Roku. Several people have tried the others wondering why it doesn’t work. I also provided you a link
Thank you for your help. Yes I AM using the official mobile app. I wouldn't have asked in the forum about the other apps.
@OddyseyT I understand. But again a lot of people think cause it says “Roku remote” in the play store it’s made by Roku. You may also have to grant permission for the Roku app to access your pictures and stuff to cast to your Roku
I apologize for my impatience. I don't know where on this site it says that the Android system has to be version 12 or more.... I am not a tech noob. I've helped several friends and others with technical issues in other situations myself, and have often had to tell people to turn it off and back on again -- so I understand why you'd think I was like that -- most people don't understand about technology
@OddyseyT I never said it has to be version 12. But you said your phone is up to date when it’s not. Android 12 was released back in October of 2021. Unless you device doesn’t support it. It’s called troubleshooting. Your asking for help which I am providing. I also sent you a link and mentioned that you may have to grant permissions. You can also go into the app on your phone and clear the cache and app data. That will reset the app on Androids
