Roku 3 Closed Captioning no longer working on Midsomer murders

I have a Roku 3 and used Closed captioning - it generally has been working fine.  Lately - we have been watching MidSomer Murders - the closed captioning only works part of the time.  I found that I could shut the power down on the Roku and it would start working again on restart.   Now it does not work at all.   I have it turned to always on.

Re: Roku 3 Closed Captioning no longer working on Midsomer murders

Hi @Ralph1954,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We'd like to take a closer look to see if there's anything else we can suggest to help.

What channel are you trying to load this content from? Does the issue only occur on a specific channel or all channels on your Roku device?

We would recommend taking a look at our Support page for more information: How to enable closed captioning | Official Roku Support

Please keep us posted and we'll continue assisting you from there!

Best regards,
Mary

Re: Roku 3 Closed Captioning no longer working on Midsomer murders

Hello, I am "piggy-backing" on this question. We have been using ROKU for several months. Lately, the Closed Captioning has been out of sync on the Midsomer Murders show on Acorn. It does not happen on any other shows on Acorn or on any other channels we watch on ROKU. Just Midsomer Murders.

We "reset" the ROKU device, but still have the problem.

Any ideas?

Mary B.

Hi @MaryMB,

Thanks for posting in the Roku Community!

We'd like to take a closer look to see if there's anything else we can suggest to help.

Just to clarify, which channel are you trying to load this content from? Is through The Roku Channel or directly to the Acorn channel?

With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.

Best regards,
Mary
