Samsung Galaxy S22 and using the Roku app on a Streaming Stick+
The private listening is enabled within the app. I get no sound through my Bluetooth earbuds that are connected to my phone. When I put the earbuds away in the case I get the message "private listening deactivated", yet I get no sound, nor does the TV sound stop. Isn't there supposed to be a green dot by the headphone symbol when things are theoretically working?
I am having this issue with my TCL roku tv. I was previously able to use the private listening with multiple sets of Bluetooth headphones on which channels I wanted. Now when I try to use the private listening I get a pop up message that reads: “private listening activated. To disable, tap the headphone icon. *Feature available for streaming content and digital antenna tv only.” Even though it says PL is activated no sound comes out of the headphones and the tv reverts to regular volume after a few seconds. I’ve tried private listening on my other Roku devices and it still works just fine.
Same here.
and i must say - it’s pretty awesome of Roku to just let us discuss our problems here amongst ourselves, but offer literally no solutions whatsoever.
Seriously, in what way is this a “HELP” board?….
Thanks for the post.

Same issue here. I installed the Roku remote app on my android . I have successfully connected headphones on 2 TCL rokus and one Vizio. All is well on two of the 3.
One of the TCL 's, the newest one, shows the headphone PL icon. When activated, the sound on the TV stops bit does not come thru the headphones.
Can't be me as 2 of 3 are perfect. Help please
