I HAVE recently been able to control the Power And Volume functions of my TV connected to my Roku Streaming Device using my iOS device. Very recently this convenient functionality seems to have vanished. I see old posts stating that such functionalities should only be available for Roku TVs and not for Roku Streaming Devices, but why then was I able to control these TV functionalities using my iPhone with my Roku streaming device up until last week? How can I regain the control over these functionalities that I had two weeks ago?
Hi @KKeating17,
Welcome, and thanks for posting to the Roku Community!
We appreciate you letting us know about your concern about being unable to access the functionality of the Roku mobile app's Power and Volume buttons.
You can use the volume key directly on your phone to adjust the volume function on the Roku remote app. Additionally, the power button should be located in the upper right corner of your phone screen. If you still have difficulty finding it, please try signing out, uninstalling the app, re-installing it, and signing back in.
Please ensure that you have the official Roku Mobile app installed. You may refer to these support pages:
Please keep us posted regarding the behavior you are experiencing, and we will be more than happy to continue assisting you further.

Me too. Not good and I’m really mad. This change was made without foreknowledge or permission. Utter incompetence.
It makes the app worthless why put it on your phone when you still need the remote to turn on/off TV and volume. Maybe I should leave Roku and try something else.
Hi @10jmten
We're happy to have you here in the Roku Community!
We appreciate your thoughts and feedback on the Roku mobile app.
Please note that the Roku mobile app allows users to power off the Roku TV. You can turn the TV on using the Roku mobile app within 12 minutes of powering the TV off.
After 12 minutes, the TV's WiFi connection shuts down, and you will need to use the TV remote to power on the Roku TV. You may then reconnect with the Roku mobile app to control the TV,
For more information, you can go to Roku FAQs.
Once again, thank you so much for your feedback; we value your input.
Regards,
Chel
