How can you make this better Roku? The Roku app is not functional as promised.
Both my Roku TV and my pixel phone are connected to the same exact wifi.
There is no extra wifi security blocking the connection, the signal is strong, no VPN, it is not mesh wifi, and the router is physically close to both devices.
I have restarted both, redownloaded the app too, and still, it does not recognize my TV.
I have entered my tv's IP manually to connect it to the app, doesn't work.
I have already followed the official Roku support instructions to connect my TV "device".
Please give me a fix ASAP or at least comp some Roku services for my trouble.

I am having the same issue! It’s worked fine for a year and all of a sudden doesn’t work. I’ve restarted both devices, ininstalled/reinstalled the app etc. still down.
I don't use the Roku Mobile App all that often anymore so do not know know if it recently underwent an update, but it was crashing on me last week every time I attempted to open it. I cleared the cache of the App on my Android and now loads/works correctly.
Just a thought.
For Android, go to Settings/Apps. Then select the Roku Mobile App. Select Storage. Then Clear Cache. I also selected Clear Data, so can't say if clearing cache is sufficient.
Normal procedure is to restart phone, but I was able to simply launch the Mobile App again successfully. This was on an Android Moto Zplay, Android v.7.1.1
