How to turn on my device with my mobile app since my remote control is water damaged
If your Roku is currently connected to your WiFi and working then download the Roku Remote Control app for Android or iOS. Log into the app with your Roku credentials and up pops your Roku device. From there you can use your remote to control your Roku. If it’s a Roku tv you have you will be able to turn on and off the tv and control the volume. If it’s a Roku device you will not be able to do this. You can pick up a universal remote for about $10. Just be sure it says “Works with Roku”

You may need to change the power settings on your device, if your device has power settings. Not all do. It depends on the device and the OS version.
A remote may be needed under certain circumstances. However, not all remotes work with all Roku devices. For that reason, it's helpful to know which Roku device you have.
Sticks won't work with universal remotes, and you'd need a Roku Voice Remote ($20) or Voice Remote Pro ($30) to control it.
Roku TVs, being manufactured by other companies, use a different code set than Roku-manufactured devices. So a universal infrared remote that supports Roku IR commands won't work on a Roku TV.
