Cannot connect to device with Roku App

I updated my iOS on my iPad and iPhone recently. Ever since, I cannot connect with the app remote on either device to my Westinghouse Roku, except for one time.

I have deleted the app and reinstalled. I have forgotten the device and then reconnected. I’ve unplugged the TV. I’ve restarted both mobile devices. 

I’ve tried to manually connect with the IP address. I’ve reset my modem/router.

All I get is “Waking up the device” and it never wakes up. The only time it did what when I “forgot the device” on both and the reconnected. But that did not work the next time around when I was away from the device for about an hour.

If it’s not searching for the device, it’s waiting for it to wake up. And this last time I forgot the device, it never found it. So then I have to use my Roku remote which I constantly have to take out the batteries and put them back in, despite just changing them to new batteries because the remote is defective.

its connected to the same network. I have an iPhone 8plus, iPad is 6th Gen. I’m at a loss. Help 🙂

Thanks for the post.

What Roku model device are you trying to connect to? Have you tried connecting to your Roku device with the device already awake to see if it will connect?

With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.

The issue corrected itself after several days.

I am still having this issue, it started at least a few days ago, but we really noticed it when the Roku remote for the tv was missing.  The TV is a TCL 65R613, I have restarted the router, restarted the device (power, unplugging, and factory reset), restarted the app and restarted my phone.  It also does not let me manually add the device by the IP.

I should also note, that I have three other Roku devices that are working on the same network.

Having the same issue. Have 3 TV’s and the app no longer finds the devices. Tried all the options in the help article but of no use. Deleted and reinstalled the app and still the same result.
